Matter of Opinion

I think people should walk in the shoes of others before giving a biased opinion.

I'm of course once again touching on the ongoing controversy between working and non working mom's. Not even all mom's either. And it's all because of this:
A housewife works longer and harder than a working mom but both can be done at the same time. You do know that a housewife is also a cook, nurse, psychologist, plumber, maid, carpenter, chauffeur, planner.
Fuck you, ignorant person. Straight to the firey pits. Longer and harder?! I, personally, found sitting at home with my daughter the easiest damn thing I've ever done in my life, chores and all! Even with the agony of not sleeping at all and hardly getting a chance to eat. And as much as I would love to be able to stay home now, it's not an option for me. I accept that. But working harder and longer? Oh no, no no no. A working mom leads two lives. You have to be able to handle the stress of employment in addition to the stuff going on at home without letting one affect the other. You have to dedicate yourself in both places. You have to have energy to work 9 hours (or less if you're some lucky heifer) and come home to work some more! You are the hub of your family circle! I've been up all night with a crying infant and still gone to work, just to come home to do the same thing. Working mom's are like freaking alpha females. Jills of all Trades. I work, go to school, keep my house clean and care for my family. Ask anyone: I'm a fantastic mother and wife!
So, alternatively... I prefer statements like:
A mother who successfully manages both an outside job and parenthood provides a role model for her child. In most families with working mothers, each person plays a more active role in the household. The children tend to look after one another and help in other ways. The father is more likely to help with household chores and child rearing as well as breadwinning. These positive outcomes are most likely when the working mother feels valued and supported by family, friends, and coworkers.
This is exactly how my life plays out. I have a husband that helps me because I contribute financially. I can't handle being co-dependent on him.
There is no scientific proof that stay at home mommies are better. Pity. You'd think all that quality time would make a difference. . . .
Let's face it: Neither side of the fence is better then the other in general. Its all about what works for your family.

So, there's this show. . . .

When I go on to youtube.com in order to find episodes that I've missed and/or only caught parts of... then I'm most definately addicted, because I hate YouTube ordinarily (although it's nothing like my vicious disgust of Twitter... but moving on).
Seeing as I was temporarily living under a rock and wasn't aware of the show from the very start, I imagine there are others that are too missing out. The Big Bang Theory is the first show in nearly a decade that has my complete attention, and it just keeps getting better! I've seen the first seasons at least twice, and have been youtube'ing episodes from Season 3 seeing as last night was frickin' rerun (aneurysm? almost..).
And it's all in the cast. Jim Parsons is my new television hero, shortly followed by his band of merry geeks, Johnny Palecki (whom you should remember from Rosanne), Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayeer. And how could this nerd squad be complete without their damsel in distress, Kaley Cuoco.
I felt the need to share. There is only a small spectre of individuals that you can say "Bazinga!" to that would actually get it.
I have quotes! Of course I have quotes...
Sheldon: "Gravity would have been apparent to me without the apple"
Leonard: "If all guys were like me the human race couldn't surivive."
Raj: "I'm going to be deported, sent home in disgrace, exposed to the sardonic barbs of my cousin Sanjay, or as you may know him, Dave from AT&T customer service."
Wolowitz (Howard): "Sheldon, I'd kill my Rabbi with a pork chop to be with your sister. "

Now that my five-year old knows her way around a camera, her favorite subject is mommy.

Some Days, You Just Can't

Today is Tuesday.

And with any other Tuesday, I'm sitting at my desk, blatantly ignoring rules on internet usage. Technically, it's break time anyway. My number one issue of the day is that I simply cannot concentrate. If I were back in high school, a teacher would have come by and slammed a textbook on my desk by now. I have that obvious blank expression, staring at the ceiling and coming up with random topics of conversation. My kindly coworkers have been nicely obliging my random thoughts with their own remarks, but the quiet stillness afterwards yearns for further indulgement of my disregard for work protocal.

Dana Carvey calls it a "case of the f*ck-its". My exception is that I managed to come to work, at least.

But in my meandering online, I have discovered that I am unable to comment on various blogs. How very infuriating! How dare the Barracuda filter deny me that ability. If I was at home, I'd be shooting comments left and right with no defenses against my sally!

Sigh.
